Austin Housing Patrol is commited to providing a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. In keeping with this commitment, employees and applicants may be asked to submit to drug testing, to determine the use of illicit drugs (marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, alcohol, barbiturates, phencyclidine "PCP", etc.). Drug tests may be conducted in any of the following situations;
Subject to any limitations imposed by law, a refusal to submit to a drug or alcohol test under the conditions described above, may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Any driver who refuses to submit to any drug or alcohol test, will not be permitted to operate any agency or client owned vehicles. Any employee who tests positive for drugs or alcohol, will be immediately suspended and removed from employment. Whenever test results are positive, the employee will be notified by supervision, as to what drug(s) were found. |
